nitto dradials in side please

Hello yesterday I purchased my dradials cheap, I cant launch with them and my freind said you should take air out of them. There nittos 315 35 17s in rear, we raced from stop car just bogged, also concerned for my rear end will i break it if I take air out to lets say 15 19 psi. 44 psi is max what should I putbthemat daily driving. Thanks

Re: nitto dradials in side please

I ran 20psi in mine for daily driving and about 17 at the track, had the same size tire on a 17x11 wheel. If the car is bogging then that means it is probably hooking up, launch at a higher RPM.

There is always the risk of breaking something so your just gunna have to deal with it.

I got pretty consistent 1.8 60' times with them.

Run anything more than 22-23 PSI in them on the street, and they will wear out VERY fast int he centers.

On mine, i ran them at about 20-21 on the street, and 12 psi at the strip (super heated).

Re: nitto dradials in side please

Yes, do a burnout to get them good and hot. I usually launch about 2500-3000. I just dump the clutch and mat the gas. Works ok for me, but im sure there are better ways to do it.

Running 30-33 psi on the stree will wear out th center of the tires pretty quickly. Are you running these on 17x11 wheels?

Re: nitto dradials in side please

Running on a 315 on 17x9.5 wheel will cause the center to bulge a bit more and may wear it out faster. You will have to expirament with different tire pressure to see where they wear nicely.

The tire is a bit wide for the 9.5" wide wheel. You dont have anything to worry about as far as safety, you just may have some uneven tire wear.

Re: nitto dradials in side please

Yeah, they will probably wear the centers out first. I would start out at 20 PSI and go from there.

Re: nitto dradials in side please

i run my nitto's at 25psi on the street..and the middles are wearing pretty badly..i'm gonna try lowering the pressure more....seeing as u guys r goin lower on the street without a problem....i do drop the psi down to like 13 at the track...has anyone gone lower than that at the track and had anymore success hooking?

Re: nitto dradials in side please

I was running some 1.74-1.76 sixtys on my drag radials when I got them. I ran them at 28psi on the street, and 18 at the track. they hooked for me at that temp and a light burnout, so I didnt see a reason to lower the press.s or spin them a long time to heat them. you will need to experiment though. also, I had 15" rims, so your's will not hook as easily as mine I guess.

Is anyone else running 315's on 9.5" wheels? I would like to try this if it seems to be working alright.
