For all of you that are running them. What PSI do you run them at for daily driving road use?

And what do you suggest to run at the track?

At the track I would lower my old dunlops down to 22-25psi. But dunno If it will be needed with the 555r's.

There are so many people saying so many different tire pressures to use for the 555r's that it could be anywhere from 17psi to 25psi. You should try one run at 17psi, 19psi, 21psi, 23psi, and 25psi. Then you should be able to tell what works best

 

ok, what about for on the street?

 

Street use 25psi generally.

 

I use 32psi on the street.

 

With that high of pressure the center of the tires are going to wear very quickly, my friend has 315/17's on his camaro and had accelerated tire wear, after doing some checking, i found a majority of the people run 25 psi on the street. Since my friend dropped the tire pressure, the car hooks a lot better, and the tire wear has slowed down consideribly.

With 315's that is too high of a pressure, not with 245's though.



At the track I run them at 15psi HOT, usually, nets me 1.7xx short times. On the street I run about 32 HOT, and they wear PERFECTLY even.



EIDT: And I do believe that you mean 245/50/16 not 60.

cool. well tomorrow Im going to put them at the test at the track. Should I smoke them up, before I run? Im used to regular street radials.

nittos need to be hot to work good, doa decent burnout

 

so should I do a dry burnout? Or back into the wet box?

 

All I am going to say about that is if you back in to the water box do not spin the tires in the water, and you are going to have to burn the crap out of them... either way you have to get them really hot.... do a burnout and once you see white smoke, go for about another 30 seconds, then pre-launch to see if they are stick enough, if they just spin like crazy, burn them some more.
