I'm on my 3rd set of tr55's and they're great. No issues at all. Anyone who labels a spark plug brand for use on "rice rockets" can't be too smart.

I have been using NGK TR55's since last fall, I have been really impressed over the acdelco platnum's I was running before...

I was told the same thing about them being ricer plugs, but gave them a shot anyhow, and will be sticking with them for a while...

didn't you hear? the new line of tr-55s come with neon porcelain insulators, and an electrode that is 50 times too big for the required spark output.

It is more a comment when talking to people and they say dumb crap like those are just for honda's, or that was the factory plug on my yamaha motorcycle. Those were the comments I got, plus I never heard of NGK before I needed plugs for my yamaha motorcycle...

No rice there, they are great plugs. I have had no complaints or issues with them.

I'm on my first set of TR5s (same as the TR55 w/ smaller gap) and
they are performing great. If you are going with the stock gap use
the TR55 and if you are gapping at .040 or less go with the TR5. I'd
rather open the gap slightly than close it way down so the TR5 is
my choice (TR5s are .035" out of the box).

I used NGK TR6's on the Formula for several years, with my bolt-on setup and 125-shot of nitrous, and they worked well.

Two sets of the stock AC/Delco plugs lost their platinum pucks in not too many miles.

My 2001 Silverado 5.3L left the factory with NGK plugs.

Both GM and Chrysler are on the NGK bandwagon. They make a good plug, though I have seen issues with some of there race plugs.

The only real complaint is the longevity of the center electrode, I have seen them worn down to the porcelin in 20,000 miles.
