NGK Plugs & Super Glue???
NGK Plugs & Super Glue???
....after doing several searches on the site I decided to go with the NGK 55
plugs. From what I read the only downside that concerned me in regards
to these plugs was the fact that the little medal screw on tip sometimes
comes undone. Why can't I just put a dab a super glue at the base where the
tip meets the plug??? Thanks guys/gals, Bill......
ps, remember there are NO dumb questions.....

Re: NGK Plugs & Super Glue???
umm...i've never heard or seen this...
i've had ngk plugs in both my Zs
and realize superglue loses it's strenght with heat, that's why it never last when you try to glue the handle of a coffee mug together

Re: NGK Plugs & Super Glue???
Haven't known super glue to be conductive and won't stick metal to metal or metal to ceramic. Probably a waste of time at best.
I never investigated whether Loc-tite was conductive. May be a good question. Funny though, the blue loc-tite main component is super glue (cyanoacrylate)
Well actually it is filling the threads and not actually "gluing" the two pieces together. It also contains a chemical to help it dry in air.
Another thing to think about, if the plug wire connector has a sufficient clamp on the plug, how could the end unscrew? Maybe these same people that had that problem also had a loose contact that would not "clamp" onto the end of the plug tight.
I use and recc. the OEM AC-Delco plugs. Never had the problem you speak of. Don't see the advantage of any other plugs. Maybe you could enlighten us.
