Next upgrade

IM looking for my next upgrade to do to my engine. What w ill net me the most gains.

Larger injectors - do i need to upgrade
Larger throttle body- i will be well below 450 with the NOS
Aftermarket Ignition- This is what im leaning towards
Air Foil - is it worth it?
Any other ideas??

i am planning on getting a dyno tune soon but i want all my major upgrades to be complete and i want the car to be running at its best.Everything else is in my sig.

I would lean towards a Mallory 685 ignition box to go along with the nitrous kit you have installed. Not only will you get a hotter spark, but also built in timing retard and window switch functions. As for the injectors, they are pointless if your engine doesn't warrant the additional fuel. The bigger throttle body might add a few extra horsepower, but probably not worth the 300 dollar tab. As for the airfoil, if you can snag one that is used and cheap, then it might not be a bad idea, but for what they cost new and for the couple of horsepower they might add, I wouldn't waste my time.

Thats exactly what i was thinking. Dollar to horsepower i have already got my biggest gains. I would just feel better knowing i have upgraded my electrical to keep up with the motor. I was looking into a mallory ignition and spoke with my local race shop and they explained all the problems that they have had with the mallory's and reccomended an MSD. I really liked the price and functionality of the mallory box but that stopped me for a minute so now im up in the air on my ignition. I definatley want to upgrade it before my Dyno Tune but now i have to decide which one would better suit my needs and the msd equivelant of the mallory is a little more pricey but i can always just get the msd and an add-on window switch its just more points of failure.

Not sure what kind of problems this shop has supposedly had with the Mallory boxes, but mine has been problem free ever since I owned it. I have several friends who use them in different applications as well and they haven't caused any issues. Keep in mind that if you buy the MSD box, you are still going to have to buy a seperate timing retard box and window switch which will add almost another two hundred bucks on top of the cost of the MSD box itself.

Yea il second on the ignition box, but to add on to that you could just take your throttle body to a local machinist and have it machined. Its alot cheaper than buying a new throttle body plus you get the marginal gains! Just a thought tho..

Look on ebay at some of the stock throttle bodies that have been bored out. They look pretty nice. I think they are around $160 and they will even refund you $40 if you send them back your stock throttle body. So for about $120 bucks you have an upgraded throttle body. I think this is what I am leaning towards when I decide to upgrade mine.

Good safety measure as long as you don't go overboard
Larger throttle body- i will be well below 450 with the NOS
The 450 hp mark only applies to n/a. Forced induction and especially nitrous that mark is a lot higher.
Aftermarket Ignition- This is what im leaning towards
Good choice if you pick one with a good revlimiter and use spark based limiting rather than fuel based, especially with nitrous.
Air Foil - is it worth it?
Not really
Any other ideas??

for heven's sake please don't say NOS when you refer to a nitrous setup... Ricers use the term NOS or Naaaawwssss as they say. Real men say NITROUS

The only time it is EVER ok to say "NOS" is if its an actual N.O.S. system. IMO.

To lazy to write out nitrous oxide so hows about n2o. Guess that means I cant put in my pillar gauges cause the ricers use them. Bring your throttle body bypass and trick flow elbow down to florida. i'll give you 2 car lengths and we'll see whats up.

but he has a NOS kit :P or maybe I read his kit wrong NOS does have a "sniper" system not sure how they spell sniper though. If I am wrong, im sorry and saying NOS when you do not have NOS is stupid.

I vote for either ignition or injectors.
