My 93 z has midwest 2800 stall, cai no cat, hooker muffler.3.23 gears. tranny build to handle 450 hp.doesnt even break a sweat! I have about 2300 to put in my car. I will have to have the installs done.I want headers, cam, rrs, and possibly 3.73s.let me know your suggestions and the exact parts I would need.figure 400 to install headers,600 for cam and rrs. I was thinking hotcam(475)(timing chain and gaskets 250) Mac headers(400).I already have madz28 tune. so 1000 install+1125=2125.I also have nittos and bmr lcas.what does evryon think of this setup> looking for 12.7-12.9

I voted headers first, but if you're not looking for more than 320rwhp, then the hotcam kit would be the way to go after that. I think it would work with that TC stall and those gears. If you feel that you want more later you can always get the 3.73's.

The MAC mids are really good headers if you can't or don't want to go with longtubes. They keep the strong low and mid range torque of the LT1 well.

look into making it a full bolt on car for now with a 125 shot and a t/a cover for the rear.

pacesetter long tubes. true duels, electric water pump. then get a 125 shot

Nitrous would put him past his goals. What you have plus a hotcam kit with a tune and you should be where you want if not a little better.

I would cover the basics first, get the exhaust work done, then look into a cam down the road.

there is no way that he will be able to afford it tho if its done right. i mean when you cam a lt1 you mine as well replace the opti, timing chain, springs, pushrods, bearings, headers, tune, plugs, and wires. and if he's not doing the work there is no way he can do it at that cost.

why not let him get the mods that he can do on his own: bolt ons. and then put a say 100 shot on it? he would have plenty of money left over to have a little saved for when the opti, waterpump, or window motors take a crap.
