Next mod session, what should I get now?? spend my money!

Ok I have the mods listed in my sig.

Here are a few things I was thinking of doing next:

1) Cam, valvesprings, and 1.6 roller rockers (not a big cam that I'd have to rev real high to get the power, but like a CC305, Hotcam kit, or XE 224/230)

2) High stall torque converter. Approx 2800 or 3000 stall, like a Torco or Midwest

3) Ported heads with new valves, valvesprings and rocker arms

I have about $1000 to spend, and I want the best bang for the buck. This is a street driven daily driver so I want some good midrange and low end power. But top end is always good.... What do you guys reccomend for my next step to get a nice gain on the street and at the track maybe a couple times?

That's what I was kinda leaning towards.

If I gave myself one week (spring break) do you think the install can be done? (cam, springs, rocker arms)

Oh yeah Indy - NICE CAR! I like those

Number one will bring you in at your desired budget. If you are fairly well accomplished with your mechanical abilities, it should only take you a coupe of days to do what you want. Make sure that you preplan as much as possible and have all parts on hand ( i.e gaskets, etc) before starting.

Cam 250 and heads ported 270+cfm for 400, rockers and springs should be around 1k.

HOT cam kit can be found for 450 in the for sale section new sometimes and you can get a used vigilante converter of 2800 stall or so for around 500. I'd say go for both.

Converter. You'd probably see similar gains with just the converter. Plus, whatever cam you get will make minimum power down low (easily corrected with a converter ).

I'd do the cam, get a CC306 and programming. A week should be enough time if you have any problems post here, there are more then enough people to help you out with anything you may encounter.

What if I were to take a day or two and do the rocker arms and springs like next month when I have some time off, then in the summer tear it apart and throw a cam in

Would that work?

Or I may just wait until summer and do the cam swap at once. I want to make sure I have plenty of time. I have no doubt that I can do it, just want to make sure I plan for anything that may go wrong.

Thanks for all the suggestions..

or should I just call it a day and get the Powerdyne 4.5 PSI supercharger kit??

I would love to do that, if I could be assured 4.5# would be safe for a long time. I have 70K miles
