Newbie has optispark questions
Well my stock optispark finally went tit$ up so looks like i got some more work ahead of me. Well i got some Q's before i rip into this project how long does this usually take and has anybody run into broken bolts in the block while doing this? Anyway i just got done replacing my radiator hoses and my belt and i plan on doing my plugs and wires along with the new optispark. Is there anything else i should do while i'm at it?
Any tips and tricks would be useful cause u know there is soooooo much space under the hood of these cars
btw its a 93 trans am a4 w/105000
Nice to talk to a home boy for change. gona take you a full day. Seal the new one with RTV before you put it in. You may or may not want to replace the water pump while your at it. Of course you need the water pump gaskets. I have spares if you want them.
The kind of luck I have, 1 month after I put it in, the water pump would go bad.
Replace the seals in the timing cover and replace the water pump drive assy since the bearing is getting worn. I'm all for a little more now and a lot less later.
If you go through all this now and don't do seals and then 3 months down the road they leak you gona kick all our A@#es.
No matter what you do, enjoy it.
Nice talking to you
