New Z28 owner needs help!!
Hello, just wanted to say happy to be a new member. I bought a 1994 Z28 A4 about 2 months ago. A week after I bought the car I had to replace the motor ever since I got it back it has ran like poop. First of all when I floor it it goes through the RPM'S like i think it should but the power does not seem to match it. There is no hesitation except if I floor it from a standing start. I read in my Chiltons manual that the timing might be off. Could this be? A friend told me that the tranny could be going. I just dont know where to start. My car ran better with a bad motor. A new 350 long block was installed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My SES light is not coming on,I have changed my fuel filter, catalytic converter, pcv valve, new plugs(but not the wires) Pepboys replaced my starter and distibuter(is that my optispark?) 1 week before my motor went. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear about your woes. You definitely came to the right place though. I hope you get it fixed. Don't give up on the Z. Once you get them running right, they are a whole lot-o-fun. Good Luck!
Out of curiousity, why did you replace the motor?
Where, did you get the new motor, and how many miles are on it? Were the plug wires replaced when the new motor was put in? Can you see a light show in the engine bay (looking at it in the dark obviously).
How's your gas mileage? Does the motor sputter or miss? How bad does it hesitate, does it feel like the trans. is slipping at all? Have you checked the fluid(s)?
Just trying to get an idea of why you say it runs like poop.
