New Track Times (Horrible) !!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to the local 1/8 mile track here. Its a new track for whatever thats worth. I am not pleased with the results but everybody here told me thats about right. My 60' time is what suprised me.
Reaction(who cares)----.646
60 Foot----------------2.491
330 Foot---------------6.407
ET@594'---------------9.048
1/8 Mile----------------9.632
1/8 MPH---------------76.94
Mods are in the sig. What do you all think? Temp was about 70 and it was minutes away from raining. I did feel good cause my buddies head/cam 95 GT wasnt running any faster than me! He had a few 1/10 faster on one run but my MPH was 2-3 higher consistantly. HAHA RUSTANG!

Dude, you fix your traction issues and your fine... Traction matters alot.. Esp in the 1/8 where you dont have much room to make it up.

Those times aren't bad. Just like you said work on launching and if you cut your 60' time you'll be all set. 315/35/17 drag radials are pretty cheap too on tirerack.com if your not running them already but just don't blow out your rear with the M6. Good luck man

I am running street tires. Just regular Z rated tires. I would rather get some 245/50 16 drsg radials and run some stock 16x8 wheels. So you all think with some stickier tires I will be able to get my 60' times lower? Isnt a 2.49 really bad even with stock tires?

Yes, a 2.49 is bad even with stock tires. With your mph in the 1/8th, that would put you around 98 mph in the 1/4 so you are fine for power, your launch just needs help.
Try to get down to about a 2.2 at least. For me, that means reving to 3000-3500 and somewhat quickly releasing the clutch without any more gas. Once the car is moving decent, floor it. That's got me a 2.15 with street tires, which still isn't the greatest, but decent. I only got to try that launch technique once, so if I worked on it, I'm sure I could get it to a 2.0x 60' time, and so could you.
Go out on an abandonded street and work on your launch, with no bogging and no major tire spin. Remember to let your clutch cool down between attempts though. That's what helped me find a better launch technique. Much better than trying to figure it out once you're already at the track.
