Re: New TQ converter

I'm no tranny expert, but I think if you didn't hear the 3 clicks and you tightened everything down to go for a drive, you could have destroyed the front pump. I believe that's what it's called. Kinda sounds like you did that to me. Good luck.

Re: New TQ converter

Ok took it to a tranny shop today, they put on a new dipstick gasket itwasnt on all the way, and the tranny lines werent tight, it runs alright i guess, i was expecting a bigger s,o,t,p from a 3k stall that what im getting, my question is, is it normal for there to be so much more vibration than before because it really vibrates bad. from a stop i can spin farther but it doesnt seem any better than i can hold the breaks till 2k or so before they spin, other than that theres not much differnt in any other rpm range?

Re: New TQ converter

If you lost a lot of fluid and filled it back up and didn't see it on the dipstick then there's probably not enough fluid. If you overfill it then it just purges the extra out the vent tube on the top of the tranny.

The vibration sounds like a trans mount gone bad. A converter won't vibrate unless it's not all the way seated, etc.

Re: New TQ converter

Ok my buddy drove it for me, that vibrating is the passenger side exhaust pipe, we could only get 1 of 3 bolts back in, i got to get a new header flange put on monday on the exhaust to connect the header, the pipe is bouncing, and feeling like its open headers. so everything is cool and i finally figured how to use the tq converter its pretty ****in cool, its always the same rpms as stock untill i mash it lol !
