Re: new times w/ new motor

You are pretty close to 11's. I would say about the best 60' time you will get out of that suspension setup is probably a 1.60 or so. That right there would put you at a 12.0. Honestly if you wait about another month when the temperature cools down a bit, that might be enough to get you the 11.99 time you are looking for. If you really can't wait, I have seen automatic LT1 rear ends hold up to slicks before with having a little more than the power level you are at. If you could find someone's slicks to borrow, that would pretty much ensure you an 11 second slip.

On another note, how is Englishtowns track? I have wanted to take my Z there but have only made it to Atco once this year. Unfortunatly for me, I found that my intake for my blower was getting sucked shut after 5#'s of boost so I never got a good track time. By the time I got my car running properly, I had to put it away for the year because I new I would be deploying to the desert (where I am currently writing this). Anyways, I am looking forward to cheking out Englishtowns track next year.

Re: new times w/ new motor

yea ive got a 12bolt rear so it should hold up well

as far as e-town, i love it, when i went 2 years ago it was the track that gave me the best time and best traction, ive been to atco as well 2 years ago and island raceway and they are pretty good tracks, when i went to e-town recently , there were 8 second cars gettin pretty good traction off the line, and infact i have a pic somewhere of getting 1 tire just off the ground!

thanks for the usefull info and advice

Re: new times w/ new motor

This is the third post I have read where people wondering why they have such a low mph. We gotta remember that this is the first time out for these guys with these combos. Give them time to figure out the proper launch technique, shift rpm, etc. The numbers will be better just give them time.

Well, look on this board and you will find many examples of these running LOW MPH, heck, there is another cubed car running 117 on street tires, that is what I would expect!!

Also, 88 mph in the 1/8th. Hell, my shakedown pass was 3 mph faster than that in the 1/8th (and I wasn't impressed). You definitely have some bugs to work out. You have a good start, but that car should be trapping 120+ in the 1/4. It seems like it is pulling pretty hard on the big end though (88 to 112 = 24 mph after the 1/8th).

With the stock throttle body, are you seeing full vacuum at WOT? Do you have any logs of the car? If that tb is holding you back and you're not seeing full vacuum, that could have an effect on the way the car runs. Stock ignition is probably fine. How do your plugs look (whether it's running rich or not)?

Re: new times w/ new motor

plugs look clean and i mean theres barely a burn in them which worries me because i think its a little on the lean side, i also forgot to mention i had a slight hesitation at the top of third or second (cant remember) between 5300 to 5800 rpm and after it passed that it kept pulling hard agian to 6200 where i shift at, it happend every pass i made (4 alltogether) i remember it did it on a dyno once and i have the graph (did not dyno tune it) the line was smooth untill it hit 5300 to 5800 and then smooth again i gotta see if i can get that up here

i dont have any logs and i dont know if im seeing full vacuum at wot

off the line the car pulls extremly hard but seems like its running out of breath up top

as far as a fuel system, i have a afpr set at 49psi i was adjusting it all day (made no diffrence) walbro 255lph pump and svo 30lb injectors

Re: new times w/ new motor

Set the afpr back to stock (43.5). Unless you are spraying or barely running out of injector, I wouldn't change the fuel pressure. If you want to richen it up a little bit, it needs to be done with programming. With that combo, I would think you'd want to shift a little higher. Probably like 6500-6600. When did it stop making power on the dyno? Definitely post that graph.
