Thats what i am using doing 6k+ clutch dumps on, not the tires fault.

You have to heat them, and have to heat them the RIGHT way. If you sit there spinning them in the box, even if they are smoking and then just come right out easy, they wont grab. You need to get them spinning in the box and then roll out still spinning them for anbother 10 sec or so. You will feel them grab and bog down all your rpms.

thats exactly what i did rolled out tof the box in second at 5k rpms until it brought the rpms down to 2000 and i got out of it. but i dont think my engine has the power to hold those tires spinnring once they start heating up.maybe it bogs the engine to soon

14psi.

Re: new times with et streets. suck

My suspicion is you simply need more seat time to figure out the proper balance of clutch, slip, and rpms to launch decently. On a stock vehicle, ET streets are overkill for tires. Nothing wrong with that, but you need to drive accordingly. I suppose if the track prep is nn existant and you are out of the groove you could spin, but I can usually hook up on all but the very worst tracks with ET Streets.

I have seen 1.5's with on an m6. But that is with a 12 bolt rear, so you can really nail it out of the hole.

With your's 1.7 should be possible. Just be sure not to over kill it, since our 10 bolts are glass.

I re read your comment and it makes more sense now. It's just the part about keeping them spinning for another 10 seconds as you walk it out I find a little hard to believe. No flame intended.

It may not be 10 sec, im never really doing a 'one onethousand, two onethousand" lol. You will know when they are ready, gas will be to floor and the rpms will keep dropping.

Re: new times with et streets. suck

ok went back to the track with line lock and really heated the tires up. 7 or 8 sec. of pure smoke. now the 60s came down to 1.84 but on this same eun the et went to 8.44 at 83.74 mph.

the track prep wasnt good at all. if the track prep was better i can get those 60s in the 1.7x area.

but can some tell me why the mph went up 3mph. i thought that when your 60 droped the mph drop as well. i was doing some tuning here and there through out the night.

and can someone tell what this would be in the 1/4 (about)

Re: new times with et streets. suck

my Iroc was doin 8teens and it was mid 12 car. you should hit high 12's. thats dame good for a bolt on car. you still dont even have all the bolt ons either lol. keep workin on the launch it can get a little lower IMHO. its a mater of findind the best spot of accel. between bogging the eng. and spinning the tires. it takes alot of work to get the best out of it. but I think your pretty close already. what clutch do you ahve? if its stock, it wont last very long lol. the reason your mph went up is because yourorig. runs were just not that good. now your nearer to your potential, so now the more you get your sixties down, your mph will prolly drop slightly.
