Can a rebuilt engine last as long as a new engine or will the rebuild have more problems down the road? Just wondering

 

rebuilt is much cheaper, and you see what you are getting. I am paying $500 for rebuilding my short block to stock, which is not too expensive, The guy will put new oil pump, put oil pan and timing cover, and turn the engine over. Save on shipping $200 too, there are probably a couple machine shops around you.
