New Radiator
Re: New Radiator
Ya, I know nothing is easy... had the LT1 for 11 years now rebuilt the motor twice. I have replaced like 6 or 7 optis now and I have a coolant leak. I only get 2 weeks to fix the leak so worst case I will have a replacement radiator just incase. 100 shot at the track here I come!!
Re: New Radiator
Oh man i'm with ya, had mine 10 years and it's got 140K,2 ECM's, 5 opti's, rebuilt and upgraded trans at 90K and now it just started flaring up and thumping going into 3rd all of the sudden, motor is smoking, been leaking oil like crazy for years but think i got that cured with the timing cover/water pump drive hole drill and throwing the factory oil warmer/cooler in the trash and i'm not even going to mention how many trans mounts i've replaced plus it now has broken motor mounts which cost 150 bucks each at advanced. All that wouldn't be so bad if it was me running the crap out of it all the time but it's been my wifes everyday driver for 100k! So in a nut shell I HATE AN LT-1 and it's gone this year!

Re: New Radiator
I just did mine this weekend..just jack up the car it's much easier to work from the bottom of the car..My car's ac does not work so I removed the condensor along with the rad..it's much easier to put it all back together..
Re: New Radiator
I have AC delete pulley already installed, no condenser in the car. I think it will be an easy job. So stock radiator or aftermarket? Which is better? I have never had temp problems but with the nitrous now I want to make sure.
Re: New Radiator
Stock is more than enough and will provide the least amount of hassle. I run a stock radiator, stock fans, and an electric water pump in my car and (with reprogrammed fan temps) the temp never gets above 190.
