New Opti, still won't start.

I recently had my car begin to run rough then die.
It hasn't started in over 2 weeks.
On the fire side, I have a new coil, Ign Module, a new optispark, I do have spark at the #1 plugwire.
It has an Holley In Tank fuel pump I installed about 5 mounths ago, but I can hear it running and I there plently of fuel shooting out of the test port on the fuel rail.

I do not have anything to scan it with. I am going crazy, any tips as to what I could check with my multimeter or any troubleshooting tips would be greatly accepted.

what does it do???
Need to know if it cranks... or if it does nothing..

Check the grounds on the coil.. Make sure those 3 lines are fastened tightly on the screw.

Pull spark plug out and see if it fires a spark...

what year is your car.. if its a 93-95 make sure u didnt install the opti wrong 180degrees out of timing.

more info is needed.. go into more detail

It cranks fine, it just will not start up.

Check the grounds on the coil.. Make sure those 3 lines are fastened tightly on the screw.
Double checked, they are fine.

Pull spark plug out and see if it fires a spark...
Pulled the wire on #1 and kept it about 1/4 inch away with a screwdriver in the boot. Lots of spark.

My 95 Opti is "keyed" there is only one proper way to put it on, and it went on flush, there was no gap, not even the 1/8" you sometimes hear about.

so that means your coil is fine, your grounds are hooked up...

You said you checked your pump and saw fuel spraying out of that valve on the fuel rail.... so your pump and filter is fine.. I'd still try and get a fuel pressure gauge to make sure ... Maybe its building up pressure but then dropping off to fast. Autozone may let u rent one.

What kind of opti did you put in. Did u do a rebuild or did u buy a complete new unit?

Do u have someone with a similar car that will let u swap computers to see if that sthe problem? An OBDII kept my friends car from starting.. i forget what the symptoms were though.

I will head over there this evening and see if they have one. I'll have someone else crank it while I watch the gauge to see if there is a sudden dropoff.

Complete unit from Jason Cromer, $203 shipped to my door for a vented Opti.

It will take some time, but I think I might be able to find someone if it turns out the fuel pressure is good. Also I am going to put a test light on the #1 injector wires and see if it flashes.

Im not sure about the 95's, but I just had a brand new opti put on my 93 at detroit speed works. When they put it togather it would not start. They went through everything plugs, wires, ign coil, opit harness, nothing was wrong. It turns out that the opti could go on more than one way. I thought they were keyed and so did detroit speed works. Well just another option for you good luck.

LOL, I didn't kick my car but when it wouldn't start I got out of my car in anger and ended up tripping on the air hose going to my impact and went face first into the ground.

I pulled the connector off the #1 injector and put a test light on it, and it wouldn't flash while trying to turn the motor over for several seconds. I also checked injectors 2,3,4 and nothing.

What else could make the fuel injectors not come on besides a bad opti? What can I check next?

The drives for the 93-94 vs. 95-97 are completely different. It is possible to put either one on incorrectly.

Are you sure the plug wires are on correctly?

i have seen a 95 "keyed" opti put on wrong so i wouldnt rule that out. we went thru all the testing procedures you are with all the same results. the spark plugs even sparked but the timing was so far off it wouldnt hit. if you are worried about fuel then just spray come carb cleaner in the intake.. all you wanna know is if it WILL actually fire.. that way you can focus on fuel pump or injectors only if it does.
