Re: New Motor Wont Start PLease Help Guys

I'm the guy turbo_z was referring too. I installed the opti one hole off. We spend most of an afternoon trouble shooting it. It sounds like its a timing thing. I would start with the opti and remove it and make sure its installed correctly. You can fire up the car with out the waterpump on. That way you can make sure the opti is on correctly before you button it up. If its not the opti i would plan on pulling the timing cover.

Anyword on what the problem was? I replaced my wp seal today and I think I missed putting the opti on correctly by one hole. It won't start but will backfire every once in a while. I am going to take it back off tomorrow and see if that's what is was.

Re: New Motor Wont Start PLease Help Guys

hey guys sorry I didnt give any updates...
Motor runs now when I brought my pcm to this shop they didnt tune it for 30lbers like they were suppose to so it was loading up on too much gas. I did the obd 1 conversion through madz28 and it started up.. Ive been having some misfire problems which I think i have found now...

The only BIG issue im having is that the car is running lean.
I have no vacuum leaks, adjusted valves correctly etc...
The motor gets real hot from running lean too. Like after 2 mins of running I can even touch intake and it warms up real fast. Waterpump and coolant and everything is fine so i dont get whats causing the motor to run lean or run so damn hot. My coolant temps are alright but the actual motor is alot hotter than it use to be. If any of you guys have an idea let me know. Thanks

you sure its a lean condition and not timing? do you have your fuel pressure set at what the tuner designates?

timing is stock and yes the fuel pressure is at the stock pressure but i have a walbro 255 pump. I already checked pressure too..So I went out to the car and the headers have been so hot that they started melting my poly motor mount...
