new motor, wont run.....

Sorry, long post. Here's the deal, engine let go and had to let the car sit in garage for bout 4 yrs. I finally got around to rebuilding, here's whats in it; 355, LE2 heads and cam, Holly 58mm t/b,#30 svo's,cloyes true roller t/c,electric w/p....computer reprogrammed by pcmforless. Here's the problem; car wont start unless throttle is wide open, when it finally starts it pops out exhaust and wont idle by itself. The car runs WAAYY rich. Fouls out the plugs within seconds, plugs have gas dripping off of em , gas in the oil and all. I've put prolly 5 sets of plugs in, but they foul out in bout 10 secs. I've replaced the opti, triple checked the install, its on correctly. Checked plug wire routing 50 times, there're good. Fuel pressure is right on factory specs, and holds pressure just fine. Had a friend who works at local dealer bring home scanner and nothing showed up. When I fired the car for the first time, it fired right up with no light. After it ran for a few secs. I did get a check engine light, showed up bad O2. I replaced it (I'm guessing all that fuel damaged it) and light went away. When it gets around 1k rpm. the motor will get a horrible "jerk" every few seconds, kinda like you shut the key off and back on quickly. It shakes the whole car BAD, like its hydrolocking or something. It fouls the plugs out so quickly its hard to get a good check on everything. I dont have access to the scanner anymore, so I'm not really sure where to go from here with just hand tools. Please send some suggestions, I'm bout to give up!!

Double check with whomever did your tune to make sure they changed the injector constant correctly. It's a small thing that can get overlooked. I had the same problem when I did my cam swap, ended up having to change the plugs, coil and re-adjust the rockers.

I thought about the tune also, I called pcmforless and he pulled my file and said it was all good, unless it didnt take the program which was highly unlikely i was told. The car, to me, sounds and acts like its out of time. I'm sure the opti is on right and I've run adjusted the valves several times, with motor running.

Just a couple things off the top of my head. Coolant temp sensor reading correct temp? Mass airflow reading good? Double check ground wires.

If the sensor fails in range the computer will not set a code. Did your buddy look at the sensor values when he had the scanner on it?

I know that this may sound really strange but i had a problem a few days ago with mine. I figured it was the injectors so i got new accell #30's and a accell adustable reg. didnt help and i got to messin with it one day checkin the fuses and bairly moved one of the injector fuses and like magic it cleared up. Took the fuses out and cleaned the sleaves and after that it has ran fine with no problems.
Im just guessin that after 4 years of sitin up there might be a little crousion so give it a check wouldnt hurt nothin.

Did you completely drain every drop of fuel in the tank and lines? I know old fuel certainly 4 year old fuel can cause big problems.
