New main cap bolts, or not?!

I was going to buy new main cap bolts, but then I read somewhere that if the engine gets align bored/honed, the new bolts must be used during the process. Well, my block has ALREADY had that done, but with the stock bolts.

Will I be okay to use the news bolts, or no?

You could get away with identical replacement bolts.

If they are the stock bolts, you get them from GM.

That's probably what I'll end up doing. This isn't gonna be a high horsepower build.

Different fasteners may distort the bores out of round.

Sometimes you just have to take things on faith

LOL!!

I have also read that some people have the oil pump installed while being align honed/bored. And some even go as far as having the torque plates on top!
