New MAF, which should i get?

I was installing a CAI about a month ago in montana on my 97 z28, and had to run to work....well i never did finish it, and i moved to san diego.

i shiped my car down and packed up all the parts....well i thought i did.

I CANT FIND MY MAF SENSOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my CAI is big enough to run straight through, so the car still runs fine.....but i really dont wanna drive without this part.

Plus my SES light is ALWAYS ON now.

anyways, i have to get it smog checked and it wont pass without it. so i need a new one.

should i :

a. buy a grantenelli (spell check)
b. buy a stock one from a member
or
c. buy a z06 MAF ??????

im not nessicarilly looking for more power, but something that is reliable and will turn off that damn service engine soon light. if an after market MAF will turn off the SES light, AND gain in power for the same price, then sweet....but if not, who knows.

1st choice would be a stocker

2nd would be a GM Z06 MAF, (NOT the LS1 SPEED ONE!!!)
But this requires an adapter cable (from Ramchargers), and a re-program of your PCM.

you'll have to clear the code, but it'll keep it from coming back on...

Stocker.

Unhook your battery to clear the code. That might not be required though, i dunno on a 97.

easier way
put key in car
pull fuse next to door pcm its a 15
pull fuse in fuse box under hood

turn key on
turn key off

insert fuse in door
insert fuse under hood

turn key on no more code

I thought the trick was to disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes then reconnect it.

Put a stock MAF back in and don't worry about clearing the code. The new sensor will turn the light off and the code will become a history code. Then after a few drive cycles it will clear itself automatically. Dash light will only come on if you have a current code.
