New guy here with a few questions...

Hello,
I'm new the this board, and kinda new to the Camaro Z28. Previously owning '70s muscle cars, and having a '95 Z28 in the past, i'm not new to the automotive scene. My previous Z was bone stock and stayed that way, only had it for a year and a half.
However, I've just bought another one, almost identical. '95 Z28, auto with 107xxx miles. This car is unmodified at the moment.
My question is has to do with bringing the car up to date. It's sat for the past two years, and still has the original plugs in it.
What things should I check and service first?
I plan on starting with new plugs, trans fluid change, radiator flush, rear diff oil change, new belts. What other pieces should I service before I start running this car? Should I change the cap/rotor on the optispark? How long do those last? Doesn't seem to be leaking any fluids, so I think the water pump is ok.
My plans are to do some basic mods, such as headers, cold air intake, and maybe gears.
Where do you recomend that I start first?

Thanks in advance.
John

Re: New guy here with a few questions...

All of the general maint. you have planned looks good. While you are at it, maybe throw in a new fuel filter, PCV valve, and air filter(unless you are going to install a cold air induction kit soon).

As for the cap and rotor, they can be a sort of a pain to replace so some people replace the entire opti unit. Otherwise, if it isn't broke, then why fix it.

For your mod ideas, headers, CAI, a good catback, 3.73 gears, a trans. shift kit, mail order PCM tune, and some free mods ( do a search on this site) will give you really good gains.
