New Engine No Start

Hi All, Hope you can help me out.

I finally got the money to replace the engine in my Z. Got a Golen Engine, Already had my Deteq, reprogrammed the computer at PCMForLess for this engine type (350/360hp). So the Shop had some people problems and we're now going on the fourth month the car has been there. Whether it was people problems or part problems, it is still sitting there.
(The car was running fine when it was pulled into this shop with Delteq)

Here's the Current dilemma:

The Car Had fuel in it in Florida Sun for the Four months it has been there.
Only two months were temps between 85-98 degrees, there was about a half tank of gas in it.(93 octane if it matters). So we go to start the car, cranks but wont start. The Delteq gets the First Light, but no lights after. This engine required a change in Opti Spark from Non Vented to Vented. PCMForLess confirms they had a good flash on my computer. Mechanic says he can shoot fuel in the Carb and he gets a start although i havent seen it do that. he tried Friday while i was there.
He is telling me now that it may be a problem with the diaphram or fuel pump it self. Is that Possible? where is the Fuel Pump Fuse in a Z? I confirmed the Delteq is hooked up correctly. PCMFor Less thinks i may have gotten a Dead Opti? Is that even possible? Does a Fuse stop electric into an OPTI?

I am at my wits end. Four Months with out my Z. any one wanna see the turmoil, i made a few Youtube.com videos let me know.

Did i miss something? Can you suggest anything to avoid dropping that Tank out the rear?

Any one ever get a Bad Opti before from Summit or Jegs? Any one ever get a bad flash from PCM For Less?

Please HELP!!!!!!

Fuel into the carb? Did you convert to a carb?

Fuel pump is electric and in the tank.

Check fuel pressure with a gauge, then go from there.

The Delteq still needs the optical sensor from the opti, You migh want to check that as well.

I don't nor never will understand a SHOP telling someone that this or that MAY be wrong without testing it. Verify you are getting spark with the Delteq. Use this link to help you out (won't help with the delteq), and then punch the guy working on your car in the face.

I am bout ready to hold him down and shave his head. Thanks for the Responses gang, it is appreciated. I am not so sure the Shop didnt pinch a wire or loosen on up , th eShop put the engine in from th etop and not the bottom. Why I Dont know...Third base!! (Abbot and Costello reference)

I printed the links you guys sent, and gonna head down there to see if i can help figure it out. the Delteq is responding correctly but up until start up. I am also told that a few bad sensor readings in Oil, Temp or Fuel would cause the Car not to start. so I will verify that as well.

Any thing else, feel free to comment

What does this mean? I know you said the light comes on and then goes off, but I'm not a Delteq guy, so I don't follow. I would imagine it's just the power light. Upon what part of startup does it not work correctly? KOEO? Cranking? You may have to probe around with a multimeter and check to make sure everything is grounded properly and seeing the correct amount of voltage.

Cool It's ALIVE!!

THe Delteq has an Led Indicator, it should flash on ignition on, then flash until it syncs with the opti, thats what i meant with the Light comment

*******************News Flash******************
Did you know:
the Opti spark Connection in a 1994 Camaro is shorter
than in later Models.

Problem solution:

Buy new Harness that plugs into Vented Opti throw out old Harness that didnt fit plug correctly.

All indicators on Delteq signaled as supposed to.
Note to Self:
When replacing Non Vented Opti with Vented opti, know that the connections are different the non vented opti has a shorter harness connection than that of a Vented Opti.
