New Dyno Numbers on Victory Racing Engines 385
I have the luxury of living within a few hours of the guys at Victory Racing Engines, and Nick built me a wonderful 385 at the end of the season last year. Finally got it to the dyno for some much needed tuning. I have to say, I was impressed. Stock LT1 castings, with as Nick calls it, a baby cam.
Needless to say, I am way stoked to get to the track once the N2O is plumbed. By far the fastest car I have ever owned. Nothing like blowing off 1st, 2nd, and barking 3rd

Is it me or is that a great rpm for peak power!?!? 6100! You dont even have to spin that thing to the moon to make the power. Talk about a great set up. Most guys making that kind of power are spinning to ~6800. Great job.

Very nice numbers...If you don't mind me asking, did they show you how much the dyno rollers were programmed to weigh before the pull? The standard is around 1550 lbs...I'm just asking because its very easy to change the program in the Mustang dyno to make the rollers "weigh" more and then your numbers get very inflated. Believe me, I'm not trying to rain on your parade at all, I am just passing on info that I was shown at the shop I use. My car dyno'd at 375rwhp with 1550 lb rollers and 410 rwhp with 1900 lb rollers. As you raise the "weight" of the rollers the power numbers go up tremendously. Like I said before, I'm not knocking your numbers, just passing on the education that I got when I saw my car "make" 35rwhp with nothing more than a key stroke...

I have dyno'd with that Mustang Dyno and it is certainly not forgiving. I've actually made some pretty low power numbers on that dyno, but the tuner Kirk is second to none. So I continue to use them, and tell myself that a dyno is a tuning tool and while numbers are great, they don't tell you everything about a set-up.
Keep in mind too fellas, theres a ford 9" out back that this power has to fight through before it gets to the rollers. I'd guess at 440-450rwhp with a 10 bolt.

Do you plan on getting a bigger cam and bigger heads in the future? I wonder how close you could make it to 500. What are your mods? I know you must be stoked with these numbers.
