dont listen to most of these guys,it dont sound like anythings wrong with your car. Most LT1's gain about 50HP with just standard boltons, (it seems your missing most of the "standard" **** like 1.6 RR, Cut out, Catback,Headers,LT4KM, TB all that) so with the other bolt ons youll gain AT LEAST 50HP most likely more i mean the stock exhaust manifolds must be the most restricted part of an LT1. It doesnt sound like much is wrong with the car (if anything at all) do headers and catback and report the huge gains then come back and prove these guys wrong.

Don't know why everyone says that, but one of the fastest LT1s in the country runs Edelbrock shorties if I remember correctly....

im sorry i dont have any dyno numbers but my shorties are awesome. they bolted right in with no extra hassle. all the bolt holes lined right up. they supplied a good gasket and i have no idea why 94 Bad A Z28 would say they are the worst. dude what are you basing that on? they sound great and SOTP could definately feel the difference. i (like others) have still not seen a dyno post that proved longtubes are better then shorties. someone please prove this point if its out there.

I dont have a dyno graph but I switched from JBAs with no cat and hooker cat-back to hooker longtubes with a mufflex Y and the same cat-back and gained from a 12.89 @ 108 mph to 12.39 @ 113 mph in my old 93 T/A.

What does your Air Fuel Ratio look like ?

Two things I would check.

1. Are you getting any knock? Knock will retard that timing real fast. Are you running a LT4 Knock Module ?

2. I would take 10 minutes and clean off the MAF Sener resistors and make sure the rubber intake to the TB is not letting any air in there, I ripped mine from underneath and didnt see all that air going in.

No matter what bolt-ons you put on the car now, they still won't net you a near 100rwhp gain, which your mods would suggest.

You should have at least dropped the muffler to eliminate restrictions in the stock exhaust.

My opinion is this:

Those heads don't flow anywhere close to those numbers... It sounds like a port-match/gasket-match job at the most with MAYBE 230ish cfm peak. Hell...the heads might even be stock...

At a TRUE 274cfm peak (which only a VERY few porters can supply) would net you over 400 rwhp on the stock bottom end.

I agree 100%. Something is amiss with the combo, and the heads appear suspect if there are no other obvious issues like excessive KR or other ill-running symptoms.

Guys even if the heads were stock (no porting) his # should be higher by 30RWHP at least. I would suggest some basic tune up...Check your air and fuel filter, check if your cat is okay. check if the fuel pump works (psi). Check all plugs and wires and definitely buy LT4KM!!!

Baising that on Dyno runs.

Edlebrock TES Shorties are the worst shorties, from what I have seen. I have seen cars switch from them to another set of shorties and gain 10hp and 13lbs tq. Also nobody that I know that has them likes them.

i have yet to see an LT1 dyno more than 310RWHP with stock exhaust manifolds NA. I think youll have huge gains with just exhaust + headers. Granted if those heads really do flow 276cfm youre gonna be puttin down some awsome numbers.even if the heads flow 20-30cfm less, theres some big gains to be had with an up graded exhaust system.

I will... I want to dyno over 310 (just because you said you've never seen it done) and run 12's N/A with just bolt ons and stock manifolds.

Dyno Graph

Ok everybody, here is a link to my a pic of my dyno graph. Some of you seen to think I have stock maifolds, yet they are edelbrock shorty headers. I do have the LT4KM, also G&G Engines in Tomball, Tx did the port work on the stock heads. Should I do a cylinder pressure test, check the opti, cats???? Its got new plugs and wires. Would it being throwing any codes for something really wrong in the engine??? Any ideas?Dyno Graph
