New Car, No Cash, Bad Opti...

My 94 Z28 only has 74,000 miles on it. But right after I took delivery of it 3 days ago the opti got soaked. I let it dry over night, and the next day it ran good. But for the last two days it has been stumbling when ever I go over a hill or give it gas to excellerate.

Now I know people who have LT1 fobodies, but the real problem is cash. I just bought this thing and I didnt plan on replacing something like this already.

What can I do that Is reliable, yet not $600 bucks to fix like the dealer would want..?

Oh also when I picked up the car it was two gallons low on coolant, whenever the opti is done, should I also pop off the intake to make sure coolant isnt getting in the oil? I know its common in lt1's from what Ive heard..

And By the way, It stumbles in the 1500-2500 rpm range, and the car is an auto..

It would probably be best to go ahead and upgrade to a Delteq ignition system. It will get rid of the opti for the most part and you want even have to mess with it. It is a lot nicer and more reliable. It fixes all RPM stumbling and is like the technology of the newer LS1s.

Check it out at EliteSparkPlugs.com for a good deal on the kit!

If you bought it a few days ago return it and have them fix it; My opti was wet and soaked with oil and still runs...After they replaced it F.O.C

bought the car as is from an individual....I wish I could do that though...It never ever did that during the test drive. And I got into it more than a few times...

That looks cool and all, but they had it listed for 500 bucks, If I had five hundred bucks then I would do that, but DAYUM thats alot, especially when you have no money lol...

Hey man,

Trust me I know the money situation, I ust went throught the whole opti problem. I bought a refurbished opti cap and rotor from napa for like 100 and some althought I got it at cost from someone working it's been working ever since. Go aftermarket and it should be fine. Delteq is good but your not gonna find one cheep. good luck
