Arrow New cam dowel pin. Cut or push in?

The dowel pin on my new cam is almost 3 times the size I need it to be. (non-vented)
Should I just cut it to the size I need or should I try pushing it in with a hammer? (I know I'll have to cut it either way, but just wondering in case they left it out a little bit too)
Thanks.

Cut it, it wont push in that far if it even moves at all. I took mine to a machine shop and they removed the pin and put it on a lathe and got it to the exact specs.

I tried to tap mine it but it only went about has as far as I needed. I then used a dremel and that was a tone faster, and easier.

I cut mine too, works fine. Make sure you have the cam out when you do it and then clean it really well.

I cut mine too.... using a dremel. I measured and used a marker to give me an idea where to cut.

It cuts suprisingly easy with a dremel.
