New B

I just got a '95 formula and i was wondering what the maintence schedule is on these things? (ex: waterpump/plugs/tranny fluid)

Is there anyway to prevent the optispark failure cause i've been reading about how dreadful that job is

thanks

'95 formula with 60k and automatic tranny.

Buy a Haynes repair manual for your service needs info.

As for the opti, do not let it get wet. Waterpump failure is the
most common reason for opti failure.

But wouldnt that mess up the optispark?? There has to be a schedule on when to replace the waterpump instead of waiting for it to leak!
anybody know what it is?

There is no prescribed schedule for the water pump. It might last 40k or 140k miles.

The opti can go out without the pump ever leaking on it and it can also not go out if it does. It is just the particular cirmcumstance.

Optis are subject to the same wear and tear as any other distributor with a cap and rotor. Some can tolerate moisture better than others.

The Opti can go out on a whim. I've had one go out within a few miles of replacing it, and that was a brand new, straight from GM opti. I took it back and almost had to raise hell to get it replaced. Thank goodness for warranties.
