New 355 Problems!
Man, I swear it's always something with my black car.
Went down to FBC today to fire off the new motor. Get it all primed and everything, ready to go. Crank, and that's it. No spark. Trace it down to a blown Ignition fuse, we got spark!!! Fire it up, and all ya get is THUD THUD THUD THUD. WTF right?? We put the car on the lift, and the freaking Rods/Rod Bolts are making contact with the stock oil pan.
I don't get it. It's only a 355. Stroke is still a 3.48, rods are 5.7 H-Beam.
Anyone else have this problem when moving to aftermarket equipment?? Car is staying on the lift and the shop is just going to bang out the oil pan some, but dang, I didn't expect this.

That's what we're thinking. I don't think it's going to come to a new pan, but this has just been one thing after another at this point.
I just haven't heard of anyone having an issue like this with a 355.

SOunds like normal growing pains!.. Did you do a k member as well? If not i guess the motor has to come out
.. Did you guys rotate the motor making sure everything is kosher? i'm sure you would have found this if that was done! YOu could always leave it and it'll bang itself out.. or airate the pan.. Find a cheap canton/stef's pan and call it a day..

No K-Member, but the car is staying on the lift, so works in progress. The shop that buttoned the motor up didn't notice anything in the process. Granted, I've never head of a clearance problem like this on a 355 in the first place. It's not like I'm using any outlandish parts or anything either. Another oil pan is out of the question. I'm tapped out on funds at this point.
