Not trying to steal your thread or anything, but my car runs 8.81 in the 1/8, akmost exactly what you are running....granted I am spinning too..but my mph is only like 79. I have a 1.9 60ft but it is just losing it down the track somewhere. I mean my 2000 silverado runs 76 mph. Is my car trying to tell me that I need a cam and some headwork or what???? I figured if my mph was higher(around 87 or 88) then I would have much better et's. Any suggestions??
Nice traps, but it also helps to find out what the other cars in the area run trap speed wise at that track. With your mods, the trap looks to be where I'd expect, and a 2.2 60' can definitely kill e.t. However, what I have come to expect from a H/C LT1 isn't what most people get. Did you run the car at the same track before the h/c swap? If so, and it was running around 80 - 83, then I'd say you picked up some good power, but just need to learn to drive
. Or get some good tires. With a 2.0 60' I was running 8.8s @ 81. If you can get that 60' down to even a 2.0, you should see at least an 8.4.
On another note - important lesson learned here - Lookie
His 2nd run was a 9.5 @ 85mph with a 2.5 60'. Now some people here won't believe his next times, because THEY know the formula lower 60' = lower e.t. = lower mph.
So was he lying on the 8.82 @ 89 with a 2.2 60'? Unbelieveable, he lowered his 60' by .3, lowered the e.t. by .7, but WAIT, INCREASED the mph by 3, and that is only in the 1/8th!
Learn any lessons yet?
Its called traction, and when not spinning, its getting the car to a faster speed sooner, which means less distance too.

im trying to remember what other cars were running. lets see there was a lt1 trans am there running 8.7 @ 83 mph, older fbody 88 or so, 8.4 @ 84 mph. a bunch of mustangs running 9.5 @ 78 mph. i raced a 97 cobra he went 9.071 @ 82.55 mph with a 2.18 sixty. the track has no grip at all. my trap speeds were among the highest besides the big dogs running 5's at like 150. its a test and tune night where as long as it has wheels you can run it, so they wont prep the track because of all the idiots on 4 wheelers and crap.
The best time I could get out of my car was a 8.32, and my mph was 89.6, I could get it off the line easy, but 15 feet down the track It would go up in smoke??? I could not get traction what so ever That was with et streets too. Just horrible track prep!! I know I could have got in to the 7's, and I belive you could have too!!
