Neutral Flywheel

I am going to be rebuilding my engine soon and I am planning on buying an internally balanced engine kit. I know that the stock lt1 crank is externally balanced by the flywheel. I was wondering what flywheel you guys out there with internally balanced engines are going with or if you are just removing the weights from the stock flywheel.

Ive answered this question many times but i have asked this question a year ago when i didnt knowand gotten help. Your new engine is internally balanced so the front balancer (which is just a pulley on the lt1) does nothing but with a manual trans flywheel you will ruin the crank bearings if you use the stock flywheel. Your stock flywheel has weights welded on to it because the lt1 kinda wierd in the way its not totally balanced internally just in the front. You need to take your stock flywheel to a good shop and have it NEUTRAL balanced, or ZERO balanced. Or you can buy a brand new NEUTRAL balanced flywheel from a variety of aftermarket suppliers. Just get it balanced and you will not have any vibrations or damage to the crank bearings. I didnt know this either when i went from working on old sbc to this lt1. Sorry so long
