Need your advice

My engine has been sitting in in my garage for two months with out heads and very little oil in it.(Still in car with hood closed) I will be putting it back together soon. I did cover the lfter valley to keep debris out but the piston bores were exposed. I dont see any rust.

What do I need to check/do before I put it back together. The top end will be fresh.
Ported heads/new sprigs,lifters,rockers,cam,timing chain ect...
Thanks

Check for any rust in the cylinders that a ring could catch, Do Not turn the engine over ! If you see any rust use a Scotchbright pad to clean, Also clean the cylinder dry, if you use any type of lube like WD 40 the particles can wick into the top ring land.... Wipe out the cylinders with a clean lint free rag then use air at a low pressure, then just wipe ( Very Little ) some 30 weight oil in the clyinder so you do not have a dry start condition

As far as carbon, if it is slight, just leave it there, if it is more then slight, leave it there also, after the engine is running, use the Sea Foam method to take care of the top end carbon clean

woohooo, my car starts out fine, the only thing is that i had to change the oil many times before it turns not milky anymore. i guess my be the water or coolant left over on the crankshaft for 2 months, as i had a blown head gaskets. sorry i took so long to let u know the outcome.
