Need tech help for pacesetter shortie install

First off Im having it done at a pro shop and they ran in to a slight problem, the exhaust gas tube that slip fits and bolts down near the bottom of the passanger side headers will not slide in(too big) and the bolt hole does not line up.

According to chevy there are 2 different tubes that were used in '95 an "early" model and a "late" model. How can I tell which I have?

They do not stock these tubes so I cant do a physical comparison.

Has anyone else run into this problem and any suggested solutions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks for your help, John A

Hey...I'm not far from you...DSM. I have the Pacesetter shorties as well on a 93. I'm not sure what your talking about however. I had tubes that went in both sides ( for emissions ) and the thread was the wrong size. This is why I eliminated all the emissions....much easier and cleaner looking. Of course if your having a shop do it forget about that. Only suggestion is trying to get a adapter of some kind or have the shop weld the right size fitting on the header. Also have fun with number 7 plug.... By the way ...what are they charging you?

[QUOTE= By the way ...what are they charging you?[/QUOTE]

Im paying for parts/shop supplies and Im helping out on the install.

Its my Brother-in-law who has the shop, trading labor, I painted most of the exterior of his house this summer when he was in a time crunched do to his daughter's wedding.

You can see some of the street rods he has built for himself and customers at www.autocraftomaha.com under restorations.

Will you be at the midwest fbody meet in DSM in june??

I'm not entirely sure what problem your running into but the majority of the 95's (such as mine) have a single cat setup. Wherease the California Z's have dual cats. I would assume that the single cat is the older style whereas the newer style is the dual cats? Its only my guess though, I have yet to do headers on my car

You must be talking about the EGR tube. Mine fit but it was a real bear to get it bolted in place. I used a high temp RTV sealant on mine to help it seal.

I can't remember now, but it seems like there's an insert or something between the header and the EGR tube. I just remember there's not much room to work.
