Tonight I installed this starter http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&ed=1066672692 in my 94 Z28. It is a vette starter, so its not exactly like the stock one I was replacing.

It was obvious where the battery cable connected to the starter, but I wasnt entirely positive where the other wire(fusible link?) was supposed to go, so i connected that one to the terminal right next to where i hooked the battery cable up.

My battery was almost dead from when the starter died,from trying to start the car, so i hooked it up to the charger. As soon as I clamped the negative cable of the charger to the frame to ground it, the starter started trying to crank the motor!! It kept on turning until i disconnected the negative battery cable.

Any ideas what i did wrong? Did I connect the smaller wire to the wrong spot?
