need some quick help please
I was on my way back from a 6 hour drive and I decided to get on it a little, so I punch it, car downshifts to 2nd going ~65mph, gets up to about 85-90mph and shifts. When it shifted, though, it kind of stuttered and the SES light came on. SES went off after about 10-15 seconds... I decided to check something and hit the gas enough for it to downshift to 3rd and it didn't. I get off the highway and come to a stop. Start driving(in 1st I think) and when it would normally shift it didn't. It got up kinda high in RPM and then kind of dropped hard into 4th i think. So I pulled over at a gas station, turned off my car and went in for a few. Came back out, started it up and it was running fine, and shifted back to the way it has been this past week(which has been different than before). Anybody have any guesses as to what could have caused this?

Might have been a sticky shift solenoid or something. The code should be stored in the computer if you have it scanned sometime soon. A lot of tranny malfunctions cause the computer to tell the tranny to go to max line pressure and that is probably why you felt the harsh shift.
Well, if you have a solenoid that is not working, it is going to cause strange behavior. It will depend on which solenoid as to what will happen.
You can look at the transmission codes on this page (click the tab on the bottom) to see what some of the effects of problems are.
Also you might want to read the TTT sticky on the top of the forum.

Wait a minute, what has shoebox been doing? Like he said, check your solenoids. Pull the damn code.
