Need some idea's on what heads to get

I have saved up 2,400.00 for a set of heads. I plan on building a 383 for the weekends to toy around with. From what I've read CFM's is key for HP. How far will my savings go for complete heads. If possible rough idea on the flow numbers for the heads of choice.
I have the block work all done for a 383 but no rotating assemby yet.
What are my options?
Thanks for your input in advance

Why did you have the cylinders honed if you don't have pistons to fit them to?
You need the rotating assy to mock up in the blcok in order to zero deck it...

You have 2,400 for JUST a set of heads? Or does that need to be split elsewhere?

How much can you afford on the rotating assy?

What are your HP goals?

he might mean the machining on the block for clearances for the longer stroke(i don't know)i hope he's not planing on a forged rotating assembly and heads for $2400 though.you might consider cnc porting your existing heads.some can produce pretty good flow numbers.just my $.02

Re: Need some idea's on what heads to get

Let me clear something up. I've been put on the back burner with a machine shop i've been dealing with for 2+ years. I finally yanked my stuff today. He was sitting on my cash 3800.00 and not doing my stuff. He wanted to charge me more for misc. stuff like another 800.00 after the fact I said I am not putting another dollar into this. Without going into details ......I justed wanted to know what my options were for 2400.00 for arguement sake with the machine shop that sublet the port work, they did the rest, springs ect......
I was a bit in a hurrry and just so P.O'd I probably didn't make much sense. Sorry for that guys.
