Question Need some help on part #'s. Doing a cam swap on a 97 TA.

Need some help getting part numbers....And manufactures of the product....

This will be for my 97 LT1 Trans AM

1. Timing Chain Cover Gasket
2. Intake Gasket
3. Oil Pan Gasket
4. Crank Seal
5. Opti Spark Seal
6. Oil Pump. Does Melling make a High Volume-High Pressure Oil Pump?
7. Cloyes Double Roller Timing Chain. Been told to use the one for the 4.3L engine.

Can you think of anything else that is needed that would be ordered?

XE 224/230 112 LSA cam & Comp R Lifters to round it out. If I cant get the Comp R's here by June 4th does anyone have a nice back-up?

I guess you have an electric waterpump cause that chain will not work with the stock pump.

Go to Advance Auto. They sell a Fel-Pro gasket kit. It includes the timing chain gasket, opti spark seal, crank seal, Water Pump gasket. I'm not sure of the part number. But if you want to wait until tomorrow, I can dig it up for ya. Just shoot me an email. I've still got the box the kit came in.

Yes, i have the Meziere Electric WP. Thats fine I dont plan on ordering until Monday. Need to get all my numbers together. I saw Thunder Racing has a cam install kit for $84. EGR gasket and Valve cover gaskets I dont need.

Yeah a Felpro kit would be great!

#6- Not trying to start a war, you have way more post than me, but there is a difference in high volume and high pressure oil pumps.
Go with the stock one if it is till getting "good readings". There is old fashion oil control- coating the lifter valley to help control drianage, 1/4" valley breathers, etc, etc.

More post mean diddly. I was just under the impression that there is a high volume-hi pressure Melling oil pump. Correct me if I am wrong, cuz it may be hard if I try to look for something they dont make

I tried to look for a post with an exact answer, couldn't find one. High volume just moves more oil at the same pressure. Seems most people are using the stock pump. Melling does have a stock replacment. The m-5. I think this is it. Poeple have metioned sucking the oil pan dry with a stock pan and HV pump. Just alot of factors to consider. Try calling Melling and see what they think. They are in Jackson MI, 1-517-787-8172
