Need some good looking valve covers to clear a studgirdle

Did a search and found one post that wasn't very helpful

I am going to be running a moroso 67040 (or 67045) centerbolt heads stud girdle and I will obviously need some new tall valve covers... ANy ideas?

I would love these ones from summit (part #440336) http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=34796 but summit is "not sure if the will clear a stud girdle"
And will clearing the alternator i have a guy who can notch it no problem...
Anyone running these?
What is everyone with stud girdles running? std bolt heads?

The only other ones i have seen are what my friend has these... http://www.melroset-tops.com/race.htm#The%20 but they are very unattractive and very heavy

any help would be great

Go here: http://www.flatlanderracing.com/index.html

When you get there scroll down to Valve Covers, then go to B&B, then to Centerbolt.
You'll see that B&B makes a valve cover that's 5/16" taller than stock.... they even designate some of them as "for use with stud girdles"... they also build any of those valve covers listed with the alternator clearance built in.

Good luck.

Considering the fact that they are listed in this way:

SB Chevy '87-Present; for stud girdle (sgl)
'87-Present; center bolt for for stud girdle, Polished, No Holes (pr)
I think it's fair to assume that the covers for use with stud girdles are maybe a bit taller.

With old school small blocks I've never really thought much about it because any cover designated as a "tall".... is always plenty tall for clearing girdles. 5/16 isn't alot though so I'd expect a bit more height in those specified to clear girdles. Give Flatlander or B&B a call to find out for sure.
