Need Some Clarification On Heads Please...

ok i've been researching on getting some different heads other than my ported LT1 heads that i have currently....

so far i've heard TEA heads, lloyd elliott, AFR, LT4 etc...

what im wondering is, when you buy heads such as the TEA stage 2 head's, are they ported LT1 head's? I was reading that you can port LT4 head's way more than you can port an LT1 head... so wouldn't it make more sense to get a stage 2 lt4 head?? could someone please clarify this...

also, what's the best route to go here... shooting for 430hp to the wheels... already making crazy power right now but, everything is never quite enough my valve's that i have now are like 2.00 & 1.56, so i wanna get some heads with a mean port and some 2.02 & 1.60 valves.... I was reading something about lloyd elliot?? he does pretty good work then???

thnx

Stick with the LT1 castings you have. Max port them, and use the money you would save for something else. My stock casting LT1 heads are supporting 557 FWHP.

Thats not a bad idea with the LT4 heads, but they will cost you more. You will also have to buy a LT4 Intake to match them. It would be a lot cheaper to max port LT1 heads and port match them to your current intake. I have yet to hear a bad thing about Llyod Elliot.
