I agree.....(He says, as he checks how much a tow truck and a 300 shot would run)

Your best bet would be buying a pair of nitto DR's and getting a NX 150 shot wet kit from nx rickey.

If he only traps 108 mph and your sig says cc306 and long tubes. call him out for a little roll and wax his ***. a 306/longtube car will trap alot more then 108

Can you give us a baseline as to how quick you ran before the mods without that we dont know what the starting point is.

How far were you from 13.0,you need to gain 1.5 secs and for under 1k you can dream on with these cars, time is $$$$!!

HAHAHA, Nitrous and tires is your only bet. And even then, to do it safely you're gonna be a lil over 1k.

Re: Need to Run 11.5x by July 1st!

I knew a guy that put that exact engine in a '90 5.0 mustang with LT's and a tremec 5 speed. At the time I had the hotcam kit and raced him. I killed him down low. In a 1/8 mile i probably would have beat him by a car or so. Problem was, his was all top end and mine was all low end. After about an 1/8 mile, he started catching up with me and passed me. Considering what he had spent on the entire setup, i was not too impressed. Those engine claim way more than they actually have IMO. As far as beating him under $1k i would say even with tires and spray you will go over that. A basic juice kit is pretty cheap but it is all the accessories that will kill you. I would say plan on a little more than a thousand bucks and put a NOS or NX kit on there. Hide everything really good so nobody knows it is there. Get some sticky tires and let her rip.

The engines are rated at what they produce on an engine dyno, not accounting for drivetrain loss, possible intake restriction, exhaust restriction, etc. And as for as the nitrous, it wont get by tech inspection if he is in an NA class, and if it did he would be DQ'd.

Face it man, for 1K or under, your getting owned. Its pay to play, you jusy have to decide how bad you wanna beat this guy and fork up the cash.

I just don't believe they dyno every engine that comes off that line. I'm telling you right now that that guys motor did not put out 450hp and it was the exact same one. I understand there is drive train loss and exhaust restrictions and other variables that determine rwhp but there is no way i was putting over 350hp to the wheels. As far as the nitrous goes, you can hide a nitrous kit to the point it is undetectable unless they tore down his car. I have never been through any tech inspections that got that involved. I'm not saying it would be the right thing to do because cheating is cheating. It will take some work but it can be done.

Re: Need to Run 11.5x by July 1st!

for a normally aspirated lt1 to run 11.50s for a grand of mods is nearly impossible, you would need to gut the entire car, remove bumper reinforcements, remove a/c and heater, front swaybar, install a k-member and arms just to run in the mid-low 12s,now you need motor work;cam heads, rockers, headers,ex,and most of all you NEED a tune!man you have no hope with a -G- and no spray!
i suggest you get a tire,150 shot, conv or gooood clutch get him out on the street and let him have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
