need a recipe for a nice driver LT1
need a recipe for a nice driver LT1
I am in the process of getting all the race stuff on a 94Z ready to sell and then putting together a nice driver. This will be an automatic car. I have some good heads and headers that I will keep. Also Borla exhaust. Will look for a used motor and build it up over the winter.
Torque motor with good milage and street manors is the goal. Also should I keep the 3:73 or swap it out for the stock gear?

Only you know what you want. Personally I would go for a Crane 227 or a Hotcam. I wasn't able to find a Crane 227 when I was going back to stock so I ended up with an OEM LT4 cam. It's ok, but wish I had something slightly bigger.
I had a 222/230 (846) cam in my old engine and combined with the 2500 stalled built auto
and 3.73's was a blast to drive on the street.
I've contemplated doing again, but I may be in too deep at this point.

Here is what I am thinking so far.
hotcam
one of the ported sets of heads
trade the rear end with my son-in-law for a 3:42
tune kit
I do not need this car for the strip. I will use my procharged 455 Buick for that.

+1 I love my CC503 set up. Mild street manners, has a nice lope and decent power. Mileage isnt too bad either 15city/23 highway with auto and 3.73's
