need to prove LT1's have 2bolt mains
need to prove LT1's have 2bolt mains
my father, brother and i have been arguing back and forth for months now about whether or not the F-body lt1 came factory with the 2 bolt main. they are thrown off i think because when the motor came out of my SS it had 4 bolt mains. but im assuming the motor was replaced at a dealership. is there something on the internet i could show him because hes one of those people who doesnt believe anything he reads on a forum. so please help me prove to him that the factory motor had 2 bolt mains!!

Didn't [b]all[\b] Corvette LT1s have 4 bolt main blocks?
Its possible the motor was swapped for a Corvette block at some time.

Re: need to prove LT1's have 2bolt mains
I probably haven't opened up as many LT1's as Lonnie, but I've seen a few. The only F-Body LT1 I ever saw with 4-bolt mains was a replacement block that was bought from GM, and installed in a 30th SS convertible, that was eventually pushed to over 1,100HP.
I know my 94 had a 2-bolt block, the F-Body block I bought to build my stroker had 2-bolt mains, and I know exactly what it cost me for the Pro-Gram 4-bolt conversion.
