need power window motor help - stumped

the giant gear inside my door is rubbing up against the powr window motor, causing them to fail very rapidly. how do you adjust the giant gear inside the door?

here are some pics:

You can get the window motor and regulator as a whole assembly. It sounds like the regulator is worn out.

Sounds like that part of the regulator is bent. You could try some prying to possibly relieve the situation, but be careful of the door (it's not metal, you know).

Great pic. Oh and get that mirror back to your wife's vanity table before she finds out you borrowed it.

well i *think* i fixed it, used longer bolts and about 1/3" worth of small washers to move the motor off of the mounting plate, and its not touching the big gear anymore.

we'll see how long this lasts
