mufflex makes aluminized 3.5" and 4" cat-backs for "big block sound" lol

Unless you're pushing 500+ rwhp its pointless to have anyhting over a 3" cat-back...

um......I'd think anything around 360rwhp will benefit from a 3.5" over a 3". My friend's 97 TA made 432rwhp and got a HUGE gain going from a flowmaster american thunder catback to a DUAL 3" X-pipe into dynomax bullet race mufflers

The reason I am asking this question is that I am making around 370 rwhp, and I heard that 4" mufflex exhaust has low ground clearance, so 3.5" would be a better solution. But then nobody makes 3.5" Y pipe, so I would have to custom make it, whick would get expensive. I was looking towards hooker 3" Y pipe+ hooker catback setup for my hooker LT (go all hooker ), but then I assume that I would still have to bring Hooker Y Pipe and Hooker 3" catback to the shop to make them fit, and I would still end up paying around $100. Maybe its a better choice to get 3.5" catback and pay the shop for making 3.5" Y pipe.

Stainless Works makes 3.5" chambered cat-backs for our cars. But they are more expensive than the mufflex cat-back

You should be able to have a 3.5" y-pipe made up at an exhaust shop for around $200.

If youre going to have to pay a shop to fabricate something, you might as well run duals IMO. Otherwise pick up a mufflex exhaust I suppose. I thoroughly enjoyed my 4" spintech catback from them & it sounded killer. I believe I'm going to sell it & go with some duals for the new setup however .

FWIW, I've made over 400rw several times through a 3" catback... so I dont think there's much power there for most guys, unless you're already making over 450hp sae or so

go true duals. most shops can fab up true 3" duals for $350-$400 with an X-pipe. outflows a catback, and weighs less. also sounds ****

true duals or just get the cat-back that YOU think sounds the best and simply install a cutout

I wish I knew a shop that could do a true dual exaust over rear axle for $500, but I never came around those.

Interesting idea that 3" catback would be enough for around 370 rwhp. I should ptobably dyno my car now with true 2.5" duals before rear axle and then put 3.5" catback and dyno it again to see the difference, but then there are just acouple dynos per state, would be a big time waste to get to them. So far I am leaning towards 3.5" mufflex

SkarodoM, let me know if you would be selling your 4" spintech, I would be interested
