Arrow need a new opti....what's the ABSOLUTE CHEAPEST place to get?

I need a new opti for my 95TA. I don't want the crap that Autozone sells. I need the complete unit, that GM sells. I *think* I've seen on here a dealership that sells them for $187, but I could be wrong. Let me know. Thanks!!

What does the Opti do anyway? What happens when it goes bad?

The optispark's basic function is to remove currency from your bank account..

Actually.. It's an optical based distributor that's located behind the waterpump (on the front of the LT1)..

It optically judges the engine speed and position to determin the spark timing and other things..

When it goes bad (which I believe mines doing right now) it can cause all sorts of problems.. Bad timing for one.. It can make the engine run rough or not run at all..

I want to go with a non-optispark alternative (coil pack system).. Problem is they are not as available as I'd like.. (Electromotive stopped making the SDI kit for LT1's)

The optispark is nice, but an unvented one (like mine) is just an expensive money pit part IMO..
