What is the best to buy, a new stock one? A Fluiddamper? An ATI? Thanks for any advice given.

Re: Need a new balancer....

try out pro products

its basically a stock damper but it has a keyed hub. your screen name says supercharged so you might want to look into that. pro products also has a sfi aproved damper at around $150. my only complaint with my pro products damper is the paint on it isnt very durable, but i have a powder coater thats no prob for me.

My Camaro is not supercharged, I just use the same screen name for all sites. Thank you for the recomendation, I think I'm going to order one, it beats paying $400 for the Fluiddamper.

Did you have any problems with the offset of it? I put it on and it doesn;t line up with the rest of the accessories.

Re: Need a new balancer....

I bought an ATI Superdamper for my car. It came with a shim that I didn't install at first, and the alignment was off. Apparently, the 93-95 cars need this shim to space the damper out for correct belt alignment. I believe the 96-97 cars have a reluctor ring for a crank position sensor that spaces the hub out, so the shim is not needed.
