Maybe MAYBE once before you grenade the rear end. A stall or cam would really help alot....

A4 cars are not as abusive as M6 on the rears. You should be fine unless you have a truckload of miles on it.

4.10s + stock rear = BOOM! Good luck.

I run a 4.10 on slicks in an A4. No boom.

Re: NEED TO HIT 12s

Madwolf,

Do you use the stock rear-end, or are you using something built, like a zexel-torsen carrier and all that jazz? If it is stock, that'd be good news for me to hear, just because I want to build my car but want to hold off on the rear-end for as long as possible. I'm gonna throw some gears in there but I really don't want to have to use an aftermarket carrier or a 12-bolt.

Re: NEED TO HIT 12s

I bought the rear-end used and it was out of an M6. It has whiney 4.10 Richmond gears in it and new axles/seals/fluids. I don't think it has a different posi in it.

I didn't run very fast on it, but it still held up to the track abuse and the occasional flooring on the streets.
Here's my 12.68 run.

I'm switching to a 6 speed very soon, then heads later on, so it will be coming out because I'm pretty sure it won't last long with my granny shifting.

Re: NEED TO HIT 12s

Yea, it has a couple of things.

I don't race on the streets anymore. If you want to take it to the track naturally aspirated versus naturally aspirated, then sure!

Re: NEED TO HIT 12s

All I can say is bolt ons and a diet. I got my car to 13.3's with bolt ons and through full exhaust and full weight. 2.0 60 ft. But I haven't heard of a whole lot of them going much faster than that w/out a stall or the obvious heads/cam or n02. I had a custom tune also. And 3.73's. And a Shift kit. Good luck though.

I wonder what will break on mine first when i run the E.T.'s this summer

I sure hope the zexel-torsen is worth the money
