I'm not sure, but
I personally went with the Comp Cam 850-16...

98% of the hydraulic roller lifters out there are made by Speed Pro. They sell them to just about every cam maker out there. The older "Comp" hyd-rollers even had Speed Pro stamped on the link bars.
To answer your question, you could go with the CC 850-16 as was mentioned or go with Crane or Crower. I wouldn't lose any sleep over the choice though.

As far as comp goes the 850-16 is a good OE replacement lifter for our cars probably a little better than stock. If you are looking for a higher rpm hydraulic lifter (anti-pumpup) the comp Pro Magnums 875-16 are probably as close to the R's as you will get.

I'm looking for new lifters since with my new setup, I am pushing 394# of open seat pressure and don't want to collapse one of the lifters that were previously in the car. What would you recommend? I'm also going w/ cmotorsports chromoly pushrods for extra insurance. Should I run 7.200" or go with 7.150" since my heads are milled 0.02" to 0.03"?

Pro Magnums 875-16, are they a drop in replacement? How much do they run?

Yes the 875's will drop right in your LT1. Cost I believe is around 225 bucks for a set. The OE 850's are about 50 dollars cheaper.

The 875-16 are the same R lifters, so good luck finding a set.
As for the pushrod length, get a checker and measure before you buy them. My block is milled 0.02" and the cam is a small base circle. I used the checker and found that the best length is 7.2"

I'd tend to agree with mindgame. It's a hydraulic roller lifter, stock, stock replacement, whatever, doesnt matter... it's still a HR. I'd get whatever I could get cheapest in most instances.

Jeff, I went with Crane Cams replacement set. Their "high performance" set was $560!!!! I paid $165 from Summit for the replacement ones, which is all I really need. You might be bumping a much bigger lift than me though, so you should talk to some shops to see what they recommend.

What about OEM GM lifters? Are they decent? I could probably get 'em pretty cheap from Jason Cromer too

Nothing wrong with the OEM parts, IMHO.

Hey Rich,
Do you happen to have a website or any place that has pictures of your car? I want to check it out since it seems like one of the best lt1's out there.
