Definitely get the 12 bolt...the rear is the weakest link in your drivetrain.

If you hadn't used the term "wisely" I might offer some suggestions about mods, however since you did, I would have to say, exercise some self control and restraint and save that money for emergencies or to buy something for your wife and children.

It's only a car for christ sakes.

Re: Need help to WISELY spend $1500

Hey fellas,
Thanks for the replies, advice and concerns. You guys really look out for your Fbody brethern.
The money saved is socalled "mad" money. Some people shop, buy bigscreens T.V., portable video games etc. I prefer to mod my car when I can. To all that had the concern about the family...I make sure that the Wife, Family, kids and household comes first before anything is done to the car. All is in place for the new addition to the family ie room, crib etc as well as a started college fund. Thanks for mentioning the family viewpoint. Sometimes, some of us guys need for someone to pull us back into focus and help us to keep our priorites straight, LOL
Anyway, I have SFC and STB...The car came with 17" rims and tires.
Most likely I will keep putting funds into this pot when I can. The 9 or 12 bolt sound nice as well as the N20. I just wanted to see what other opinions/ideas were out there. As I stated ealier....this the last mod I'll do to the car whatever it may be.
Thanks again

Tim

If you're ever going to take it to the track you can put a 12 bolt/9 inch in it now or later, either way you're going to spend the money.

Defiantly put a 12bolt or 9" in. I have a H/C car that should be right about the same numbers that you are putting down, I cant get traction until 3rd gear and I defiantly need me a new rear end. Plus going from 3.43's to 4.10's or 4.11's would be a huge improvement.

Sounds like you have enough money into the engine to run 11's, just need traction to get you there.
