Need help with an upper engine noise...
Okay, here is the deal. After the Hotcam install (been about 2 months) I now have a fierce upper engine noise. Sounds like a lifter almost.
What i have done so far.
1) Pulled off the valve cover, and done a basic inspection. Nothing unusual.
2) Ran the car with the cover off and pushed on the rocker arms while its running to see when I can get the noise to stop, but no matter where I push at on the rocker arms, the noise doesn't go away at all.
3) Inspected all pushrods, no bent pushrods.
I am pretty sure that I have a lifter that has collapsed on me, but I am not sure how to tell which one or if I can tell which one is done for without pulling the intake (which I need to fix anyways, because it leaks really bad).
Any suggestions??
Thanks

No sounds or video at all.
The rockers I put number one firing at TDC, and then adjusted certain rockers (can't remember the numbers, but I followed the LT1 book that I have). I adjusted the pushrod to zero lash, and then went a little over half a turn.
Then I rotated the engine 180 degrees and did the rest of them.
This is always the way I have adjusted roller rockers and have never had any troubles. Even the LT1/LT4 book that I have tells me to adjust them this way.
Maybe I'm wrong on that, but I dunno...
Anything else to look for??

I didn't say it was a lifter tick, I said it sounds like a lifter tick. Its coming from the drivers side under the valve cover/intake region.
It will intermittently appear and go away, which is why I think that I have a lifter that is gummed up and I am going to try and clean it out with some motor flush. Anybody reccomend a good brand of motor flush??
Thanks
