Need help on a simple problem

Could someone please enlighten me on this problem. My fans will not turn on by themselves and my A/C has quit working, (will not blow cold air). Ive noticed the coolant light to come on, even though the car is not overheating nor does it need any coolant, cuz its full. This has all happened within two days. I just need a suggestion because Im sure its something simple as a sensor of some sort. Thanks for you help.

you say your car isnt over heating, but the fans arent working First check the obvious and look for any blown fuses. Then if all fuses are ok, check to see if you have power to the connector at the cooling fans( right where it comes off of the main wiring harness) . Check for a good power and ground, also you could use 2 small jumper wires with alligator clips attached and jumper power and ground directly to your cooling fans. Hope this helps.~~~rob

The reason I know the fans arent working is normally they turn on around the 180- 185 mark but now the temperature goes past the 210 mark. I do have the 160* stat and the HPP3. The only way the fans turn on is if I turn the vents on. But what threw me for a loop is when the coolant light came on last night when I was driving with traffic and the temp. reached past the 210* mark Thanks for the help Rob. I will try your suggestions.

You mean they come on when you turn on the a/c or defrost? They should not come on in just the vent mode.

If they do come on, then there is nothing wrong with the fan wiring or circuitry. You might have a bad temp sensor in the water pump. That sensor sends temp info to the pcm. A scanner would be helpful to see what the pcm sees.
